A. METİN ÇOKAN

   He was born in 1941 in Istanbul. He graduated from gymnasium in Nevşehir. In 1965 he graduated form Istanbul Technical University as Civil Engineer. His professional background is as follows.

   Between 1965-67 Dam and Irrigation Control Engineer, Chief of the Study & Planning Service, Chief of the Project Construction Service by the 44. Subsection of the State Water Department.

   Between 1967-69 military service as reserve officer.

   Between 1969-72 Control Engineer of the Dewatering of Konya Plain Project of 4. Section of the State Water Department, despite he personally was against this project.

   Between 1972-76 Site engineer in the Isdemir job-site of Messrs. Kiska Kom. Şti., where he has improved and constructed his own slip form system (www.kayarkalip.com) that has been tested by the construction of the Stacks of the Thermal Power Station Afşin-Elbistan in 1976.

   After 1976 by using his own slip form system he constructed; 10 pcs. stack for Isdemir Steel Mills Project, 8 pcs. reinforced concrete silos for the Cement Works in Çanakkale, 2 pcs. reinforced concrete silos for the Cement Works in Northern Cyprus, 18 pcs. reinforced concrete columns of the Abdi İpekçi Sport Hall, Lime and Clinker silos of Nuh Cement and Lime Plants, additional cement silo of Bolu Cement Plant, 2 pcs cement silos and 3 pcs slag silos for İskenderun Cement Works, silos for Ereğli Cement Works, water intake shaft for the Atatürk Dam, reinforced concrete cladding of the Stack of Erdemir Cocks, 2 pcs. reinforced concrete conical stack in Afghanistan.

   In 1983 he designed and constructed a suspended platform to be used for construction and maintenance of high building, which can be operated manually or electrically. his platforms have been used/still be used by hundreds of buildings. (www.askiiskele.com)

   In 1992, he finalized the innovation of Producing Energy from Sea Waves on which he was working since 1958 and applied for an international (PCT) patent (WO 02075151- EP 1370767). (www.dalgaenerjisi.com)

   He is at the moment the chairman of his company METİN ÇOKAN Enerji Tur. İnş. Mak. San ve Tic. Ltd . Şti. that is active in the field of construction works, machinery production and R&D of different projects
